MAME originally ran on Broadway for 1,508 performances after opening in 1965. This limited engagement features the set, props and costumes created for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts production in 2006. The production will be directed and choreographed by Chuck Hoenes, a legend of dance in Chicago, New York and Florida who has directed over three hundred musicals and musical reviews in the last thirty years. Who is MAME? Some of Mame’s wild, adventurous spirit is inside everyone who lives for the moment and believes that “life is a banquet.” It’s the height of the 1920’s and Auntie Mame becomes the guardian for her ten year-old nephew, Patrick.
Features the set, costumes and props built for the original Broadway production starring Cathy Rigby, including the spectacular flying sequences directed by ZFX Flying! Relive the timeless J.M. Barrie classic about a mischievous boy who can fly and magically refuses to grow up, spending his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland as the leader of his gang The Lost Boys, interacting with mermaids, a fairy named Tinkerbell, an Indian princess names Tiger Lily, pirates lead by the ruthless Captain Hook and a ticking alligator!
