EVENT STAFF

 

SUMMARY

Event Staff will provide the primary level of guest assistance, be responsive to patron needs and behavior, provide access control, crowd management and ensure the venue is safe for guests, and ensure a safe and fun environment for all guests, staff and performers. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

1.    Customer Focus:  Is dedicated to meeting and/or exceeding the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.

2.    Integrity and Trust:  Is widely trusted and is seen as a truthful individual who keeps confidences, admits mistakes, doesn’t misrepresent themselves and is highly respectful of others.

3.    Communication:  Consistently exhibits courteous, respectful, non-defensive and appropriate communications and presents information in a concise and understandable format.

4.    Teamwork:  Works cooperatively with others in the accomplishment of joint tasks and common objectives.  Contributes to a positive work environment, fosters collaboration and provides a tangible contribution.

5.    Provide guests with directions or other venue information

6.    Secures door entrances and exits.

7.    Keeps aisles and other areas clear.

8.    Assists in inspection of items prohibited into the venue.       

9.    Checks for hazards.

10.  Helps enforce venue policies/procedures.

11.  Keeps unauthorized persons out or restricted areas.

12.  Helps strike chairs after events for particular events.

13.  Help clean up seated areas for particular events. 

14.  Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Hourly compensation starts at $9.00/hr.

CONCESSIONS/BAR SUPERVISOR

SUMMARY

 

The Concessions and Bar Supervisor is responsible for all food, beverage and merchandise services offered; delivering the highest service levels while generating maximum sales; coordinate activities and direct training of all concession/bar employees in service and sanitation and performing the following duties personally or through part-time employees.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  6. 6.Determine, establish and implement service standards in all concession/bar sales services.
  7. 7.Assist in menu and service planning and review upcoming event information to determine point of sale to be operated, number of staff on each event,  making every effort to increase sales, assure operational efficiency are realized, product availability is maximized, waste and pilferage is minimized and cash handling and inventory controls are strictly adhered to.
  8. 8.Plan, direct and oversee all setup, stocking and preparation for concession/bar sales events for the facility assuring compete details of service to be offered are communicated through all departments in a timely and effectiveThe Concession/Bar supervisor must be able to personally perform each duty that would be assigned to all employees working in the areas of concessions, bar and storage.
  9. 9.Determine, establish and implement policies, procedures and training to assure all services and storage operations adhere to local, state and/or federal regulations/guidelines at all times.
  10. 10.Assure all food/beverage service equipment and service/storage areas are maintained in a clean, sanitary, organized and operational manner, assuring that it is set up in a proper and timely fashion and removed from areas promptly as appropriate.
  11. 11.Requisition inventory/supplies needed and assure all department related orders and deliveries are received properly and in the quantities and prices ordered in a FIFO rotational pattern promptly and efficiently.
  12. 12.Perform other duties, functions and special projects as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Business Manager.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise concessions/bar staff.  Carry our supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include assisting the Business Manager in hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.  This position will act as the lead on all shifts.

STREET TEAM

 

Summary: Hang up pre-printed posters around area businesses and other locations specified by the BPAC on an as-needed basis.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Pick up pre-printed posters at the BPAC within 2 business days of notification e-mail. (If notification e-mail is sent Monday at noon you have until Wednesday at noon. Office hours are 9-5 Monday-Friday).
  2. Treat all business owners and staff in a professional manner when you deliver posters. When available always get permission from the manager or business owner. You are representing BPAC when you are in these businesses.
  3. Take mobile photo of posters in at least 5 locations and turn in to BPAC. (Spot checks will take place once a week).
  4. Teamwork: If you find a new location other than what is on the list given to you please notify the BPAC so that business can be added to the list. Also if a location is no longer accepting posters please notify BPAC. New locations will be rewarded.
  5. Some events will require posters to be hung up in specific locations outside of the Burnsville/Apple Valley/Savage area.

Qualifications:

  1. Must have a valid driver’s license to deliver posters around the Burnsville/Apple Valley/Savage area.
  2. Excellent skills in communications and problem solving.

Compensation: One complementary ticket to any event at the Burnsville Performing Art Center in the Orchestra level. Additional tickets can be purchased next to your complementary ticket.

Part Time Custodial

 

 

 

Burnsville Performing Arts Center has open positions for part time custodial. Monday thru Sunday, flexible hours, most hours are nights and weekends, some daytime hours available.

Duties include: vacuuming, dusting, restroom cleaning, mopping, picking up and emptying trash cans, snow removal. Assist in event setup and tear down. Other duties as may be assigned.

Experience a plus but not required.

Must have reliable transportation.

Hourly compensation starting at $9.00 hr.
